I am interested in your Wortman's of the 1840 Indiana period. My husband's great grandfather's obituary said that his mother was Nancy Wortman who married William P. Sullivan. (He was John Wallace Sullivan b. 1840 in Putnamville, In.) I was wondering if you have found any more information and might have a connection to Nancy. I cannot get any information on this couple. The names from the obit is all I have on them. John Wallace Sullivan moved at some point in his life to Washington, Daviess co., In. and there lived his life for the most part. The family story is that he was a rider with Buffalo Bill and his Wild West show but I have not found the proof on that. His wife died when his children were young and he had a sister -- in -- law that raised them. I would really like to find this brick wall and go past it! Since my husband is the last of his line of Sullivans he wants me to prove this ancestry.
